Zach Wiliams had met his bandmates only once when he packed his life into a car and drove 24 hours across the country to join them. This is the story of DEAD EYES - the courage to leave a toxic environment and the mental toughness it takes to rise when times are darkest.
In the short time since making that trip to PA, the Dead Eyes community has grown into a subculture: The ‘Dead Kru’ have driven this message home to over 3 Million streams across all platforms, growing with the band as they progressed from their home studio to share the stage with bands including August Burns Red, Hands Like Houses and Cane Hill
Made up of construction workers, teachers and athletes, Dead Eyes are a voice echoing back through the same tough times, social injustice and personal battles we experience daily. Hard work, sacrifice and respect for those who build our communities, teach and feed us is the drive behind Dead Eyes.
This is music to unite us at a time when we’ve never felt more divided.
The band's first radio single, "Break In The Current" is about getting knocked down and refusing to stay down; feeling the gravity of every decision that brought you here and having the conviction to know that, when it’s your moment, you have what it takes to get back up no matter how far, hard or often you fall.
“Feet bruised by the miles travelled looking for myself and I need help”, I wrote that lyric when I was 19 and held on to it for almost a decade", says lead vocalist Zach Williams. "This was the last song written for the record, but the first in all those years that could be the vehicle for that feeling. At this point in the writing session, we knew the direction we were driving; it was less exploratory and more a display of us taking this cool new vision of the band for a spin. The entire song was written and recorded in 8 hours, this was the moment we knew who we were".
