Fit For A King unveil a massive new rock anthem with “Breaking The Mirror.” The explosive and heavy-hitting song is the band’s first new piece of music in over a year, and solidifies their place as a band perched at the forefront of the hard rock world. On the new song, frontman Ryan Kirby says, “Breaking The Mirror" is not just about leaving your troubled past behind, but actually destroying it. Not forgetting it, but not letting it be a part of your current identity, either.”
The band's upcoming 'Dark Skies World Tour' is truly an evocative declaration of a hard-won victory. “This is our first time doing a full U.S. headline tour, and headlining in many of these countries", shares Kirby. “We are both parts nervous and indescribably excited to hit the road.”
As far as the band's music goes, “The new album is far from happy. It’s about personal struggles,” explains Kirby. “It touches on many subjects relevant to all of our daily lives.” Throughout the album, produced and mixed by the legendary Drew Fulk (I Prevail, Motionless In White, Memphis May Fire), a heady combination of heavy riffs and melodic hooks are used to honestly explore the dark sides of life.
Securing charting positions including the #2 Hard Rock, #3 Rock, #13 Top Current Albums and #69 on the Billboard 200, Dark Skies gave Fit For A King the biggest first week in their decade-long history and has helped propel them into the forefront of the metalcore scene.
Fit For A King was built from the beginning with bootstrap ethics and do-it-yourself vigor. On the strength of self-released material, the group joined Solid State Records for a string of successful albums that connected with the downtrodden and dispossessed. 2013's Creation/Destruction debuted at #6 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart, and the follow-up, 2014's Slave To Nothing cracked the Top 50 of Billboard’s Top Current Albums. Deathgrip (in 2016) also climbed to #5 among Hard Rock Albums. Now, with "Breaking The Mirror", Fit For A King is destined to, once again, dominate the hard rock/metalcore scene through this modern masterwork, powered by the undeniable weight of truth-telling and emotional vulnerability.
