"AMFTM" was written in a dark place. It’s about battling with mental health and the struggle to feel “better”. Sometimes you feel pressure from other people to put on a face or “change how you react” and all that other toxic positivity.

Other times you try several medications only to end up worse than before. The song is frustrated and fed up with all of that. It’s cynical, sad, angry, and tired.

We simply wanted to express ourselves. A lot of people struggle with mental health whether they know it or not and this band is no exception. We want it to be okay to express how you feel, even if there’s no highlighted message of positivity.

THAT’S the message. It’s okay to not be okay. You’ll get through it, but sing, dance, write, or cry about it if you need to."

Hollow City is a five-piece hard rock outfit hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana. The band's name captures their message of coming from a place of emptiness and filling the void with their music. Each song takes the listener on a journey with real life situations of sorrow, angst and despair, while maintaining a hopeful message.
