Texas has been known to breed some of the loudest and hard rocking' bands on the planet and Anchored is definitely no exception. Blurring the lines between the melodic crunch of Shinedown and the big arena hooks of Stone Temple Pilots, these Dallas natives have crafted an electrifying brand of melodic, heavy-hitting hard rock.
Anchored are true road warriors, having spent the past 18 months building a fan base touring with modern rock heavyweights like Volbeat, Cold, Black Label Society, Saliva and All That Remains. The group’s eclectic sound allows them to fit on any tour from metal legends like Zakk Wylde to more mainstream hard rock acts.
The extensive period of time the group spent on the road quickly drew the attention of record labels drawn to the band’s relentless work ethic. Upstart label Trynd Music stepped up to the plate to offer the band national distribution for through EMI and a strong marketing department to bolster Anchored’s own efforts. The group’s new album Listen To This lands in stores on January 24th, 2012 and will be the group’s debut national release.
"We have been working hard at it for two years independently, touring, promoting, doing everything ourselves. It’s awesome that we have an iconic label like EMI and Trynd Music on board to support the release of Listen To This and our future releases,” commented Anchored vocalist Brandan Narrell. "The album has a feel good vibe to it, it’s not just a beer coaster, its pieces of my life and true stories."
"I'm very proud of Listen To This. It's the kind of record I've always wanted to do,” added guitarist Joel Estes. “Our album is party music that you can't help but have fun listening to."
Listen To This will be released as a 2-disc CD/DVD, that includes music videos for the tracks "Dirty In Texas" and "Last Night", as well as a 90-minute live performance shot at a sold-out show in Spokane, Washington's Knitting Factory. "We wanted to give our fans a little more bang for their buck when they buy our album,” said Estes about the 2-disc set. “The live DVD is a cool bonus for the fans that have been supporting us since day one, and it’s also a way for people to check out our live show if they have never seen us before. We pride ourselves on being a live band as bring everything we have to the stage each and every time.
