Cheap Trick may be one of the most-covered and revered bands of all time. Since the 1970's they've been blending elements of pop, punk and hard rock in a way that is instantly catchy and recognizable. With timeless classics such as "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender," "Dream Police", and the late 80's lighter-waving favorite, "The Flame," the band are nothing short of an American-made, global musical institution.
With more than 5,000 live performances, 20 million records sold, 29 movie soundtracks and 40 Gold and Platinum recording awards under their belts, the band was honored in October 2007 by the Chicago Chapter of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) for their contributions to the music industry.
In September 2009, CHEAP TRICK performed the classic Beatles album, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', in its entirety, complete with an orchestra and guest artists including Joan Osborne and Ian Ball for nine critically-acclaimed shows in Las Vegas and a subsequent live album culled from the performances.
In 2016, Cheap Trick set a new course with their first new album in seven years, 'Bang Zoom Crazy...Hello', released on April 1st, 2016, their first on Big Machine Records. Pulsating riffs intertwine with the anthemic chorus in this first taste of new music in over five years from the iconic four-piece from Rockford, IL.
'Bang Zoom Crazy...Hello' marks Cheap Trick's 17th studio album and was produced by GRAMMY award-winning producer Julian Raymond. It follows the recent announcement about the band's (overdue!) induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and firmly cements them as one of the most important bands in music history.
Cheap Trick are an indisputable American institution, beloved around the globe since 1974 for their instantly identifiable, hugely influential, brand of "power-pop" rock n' roll. The band Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass guitar), and Daxx Nielsen (drums) are truly one-of-a-kind pioneers with an unparalleled streak of certifiably classic tunes.
Cheap Trick will hit the road again this summer in support of 'Bang Zoom Crazy...Hello' and celebrate their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, kicking off the "Rock Hall Three For All" tour of the U.S. alongside Heart and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, beginning July 14 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, Michigan. The 30-date tour will culminate at Florida's Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre on September 23rd. Cheap Trick tour dates can be found at www.cheaptrick.com/tour-dates.
