With memorable songs, gorgeous vocals and a world class production, the Siberian band Evolution take their first steps into the international arena. All of the members being highly-skilled session musicians and prolific writers make them anything but beginners, though. Their top-tier musicianship and the songs they've crafted make them one of the most interesting new bands out there today. The band begins its history in the Siberian city of Barnaul, Russia, where on one snowy night, some exciting and innovative new music was created by a couple of bored guys. The setting at a local bar soon drew a crowd and the guys managed to pay their tab that night from the proceeds. This humble beginning was soon to mature into a full band.
They then formed the current line up adding electric lead singer Olga. The moniker Evolution was chosen and soon they started looking for international collaborators. Swedish label/studio Pama Records were chosen to produce their full-length album. The band started working with Pama producer Mankan Sedenberg to help the songs reach their full potential. This resulted in 11 dynamic songs, displaying the varying ethnic and sociological backgrounds of the band, and their desire to bring something new and fresh to the table.
The debut album encompasses many different styles and directions, and lyrically they have found a way to combine meaning and depth in a fascinating way – all the while staying true to their Russian roots. The songs are also filled with exciting and beautiful melodies that illustrate the lyrics – it is music to discover and rediscover. Evolution may not come from a place that you know of, they may not share your specific experiences - big or small - but the stories they tell are contemporary and honest and they point to the fact that we all share the same destiny of being human – both good and bad - and that's Evolution!
